Baltimore And D.C. See Large Influx Of High-Earning Millennials

The influx of high-earning young adults to major cities around the country has been on the steady increase since the early 2000s, but it is especially pronounced here in the Mid-Atlantic region. According to a recent study, Washington D.C. ranks third on the list and Baltimore ranks fifth. Philadelphia also makes it into the top twenty at number nineteen. This growth in urban wealth also showed that of those at the top thirty percent of the income spectrum, about 400,000 more of them lived in urban areas in 2014 compared to 2006 (the peak of the housing boom).
